THE PROPER BOYS …  a guarantee of a great night !....

When vocalist PAUL ELLIOTT (ex Sting) and guitarist MIKE BERSIN (ex Freddie Mercury)  were recruiting  a new band, they knew that the choice of rhythm section was crucial – “We don’t want just any backline – we need the proper boys”!
It wasn’t long before bassist JOHN GLADSTONE , who goes back with Paul to the days of Saratoga Blues Band and later the enigmatic Bad Bob, was on his way up the A1 from Yorkshire.
Fellow ex-Walker lad GREGG STRETTLE was tempted back from a premature musical retirement to complete the line-up on drums.
This is a partnership that was just “meant to be”.
Bass and drums first met when they were two years old. (There’s a photograph to prove it)!

When it came to choosing a name, it was unanimous – The Proper Boys were born!
Playing at venues all over the country, the band has raised many thousands of pounds for charity and play to packed venues wherever they go.

Guided by audience reaction, their set is now full of the tunes that define what is best in guitar rock. The combination of great playing and great songs is a guarantee of a great night out. It’s not often that you get the opportunity to see a great band “up close” and their audiences really play their part in making the show a very special night.
With all those years of experience on the stage, an obsession with quality and a policy of playing music that the audience wants to hear, you can see why this band always have their audience jumping!

As one happy punter put it, “If you want a proper night – see the Proper Boys”!

See you in the queue at the bar...
